TATTOO AFTERCARE

Hell Yeah Tattoo

Congrats! You have a new tattoo! As exciting as this is, we're not done just yet. Healing your tattoo is an essential part of the quality AND longevity of your tattoo. We understand that your (non-tattoo artist) friend has 3 tattoos and wants to tell you how to heal your tattoo... Please do not listen to them. If you have ANY questions, please come in, call, or reach out to us on IG or FB. Now, let's heal that tattoo!

Day 1-2

Once you get home (the day of your tattoo), remove the wrap/bandage, throw it away and wash your hands. Wash your tattoo gently with anti-bacterial soap (EX. Liquid Dial Soap). We recommend letting your tattoo air dry the first night. You are welcome to rewrap it if that makes you more comfortable.

Day 2-10

Wash hands before washing the tattoo. Allow tattoo to air-dry for approximately 5 minutes. Apply a light layer of preferred aftercare (EX.Hustle Butter, Aquaphor, Tat Wax, Tattoo Goo, A&D). DO NOT use Vasoline or any petroleum based products! Repeat this process 2-3 times a day (morning, mid-day, night). Do this everyday until all (if any) scabs have fallen off
(typically 7-10 days). Please keep in mind that not everyone heals
the same. Some of us heal faster or slower than others.
No need to pannic if it's taking a little longer than anticipated.
Light scabbing is normal, no need to panic! You will also most
likely notice some itchiness. That's normal too. Do not scratch the
actual tattoo. scratch lightly around the tattoo or light taps.
I know that little flappy flakes are really tempting to pluck,
but don't do it! Despite popular belief...
DON'T LET YOUR DOG LICK YOUR TATTOO!

Small to medium pieces, leave the first initial wrap on for 5 days.
During these 5 days, you may notice a few things, such as; itchiness
and the infamous "soy sauce packet" (this is a collection of plasma,
blood, and excess ink [basically this is a scab in liquid form.
Leave it alone. Once it is time to take your Second Skin Wrap off,
do so under warm running water. This can be a pretty uncomfortable
experience sometimes. So take your time. Don't rip it off quickly.
Wash your hands and then your tattoo with Anti-Bacterial soap.
Allow is 5-10 minutes to air-dry and then apply a moisturizer
(do not use scented lotions or lotions with gritty texture).
Be sure to apply moisturizer at least 3 times a day (morning,
mid-day, and night). Do this everyday for the next 5 days (day 5-10).

If for any reason you notice skin irritation (pimples and redness)
coincidentally in the shape of the Second Skin Wrap that you're
using, remove the Second Skin Wrap and wash your hands then tattoo
with Anti-Bacterial Soap. Allow 5-10 minutes for the tattoo to
air-dry and then refer back to the "STANDARD METHOD" of how to take care of your tattoo for the remaining days of healing your tattoo.
